Biodiversity serves as the cornerstone of human existence, as we depend on a stable climate, flows of fresh water, effective pest and disease control in agriculture, crop pollination, and various other essential services. All of these are provided by functioning ecosystems that rely on a diverse array of organisms.

However, very few countries are on track to restore nature by 2030 according to WWF new tracker on national biodiversity plans released on September 30, 2024
