We refuse to be part of an academic elite that is silent today, only to teach about genocide in 20 years. In the last two weeks, at least 30 Universities in Turtle Island have set up Gaza solidarity camps, including Barnard, Berkeley, MIT and Columbia. (1/n)

The arrests marked the first time the university has allowed police to suppress campus protests since the 1968 demonstrations against the Vietnam War.
Academic institutions are once again ready to suppress uncomfortable voices, waiting 60 years before presenting themselves as seeds of the very same change those voices are demanding.

We support the calls for a ceasefire, the stop to the Rafah invasion, the release of Israeli and Palestinian hostages, and the establishment of a concrete peace process that includes the freedom to self-determination for Palestinian people as well.

There is no climate justice without social justice, they are the same fight and they will not remain only as theories in books.

The pro-Hamas protests are a political technology campaign to weaken Joe Biden so that the fossil fuel industry can maintain their business of profiting off of polluting our planet and its so sad that so many people have been brainwashed into believing their lies about the USA being the Great Satan.

@ScientistRebellion ihr vergesst dabei die Geiseln. Es ist nicht Terror gegen Genozid. Sondern Terror in Form einer Geiselnahme gegen Geiselbefreiung. Wie diese Befreiung auszusehen hat, und wer darunter leidet, ist durchaus diskutabel. Aber ein Genozid ist im Terminus etwas völlig anderes.

Ganze Familien auszulöschen, 2 Millionen Menschen zu verhungern und Dörfer zu verbrennen, nur weil sie die gleiche ethnizität wie Terroristen haben.

@ScientistRebellion weißt du was ich schlimmer finde, wenn man als iran 2013 den globalen Waffenkotrollvertrag nicht unterschreibt und dann 10 Jahre Raketen auf Israel schießt wo beide Ethnien völlig problemlos zusammen leben und gegen die rechte Regierung einen demokratischen Protest erzeugt. Und die Hälfte von Gaza dann noch jubelt wenn die Raketen nicht durchkommen aber die Hamas.
Weißt du wie viele Millionen Frauen im Iran noch leben? Aber kein Leben haben?

Können wir uns auf Terror und Geiselnahme auf der einen Seite und Massaker und gezieltes Aushungern (mit einer ziemlich mässig erfolgreichen Geiselbefreiung) auf der anderen Seite einigen?
Also, ich würde mir einfach wünschen dass wenn Leute sagen 'die Situation ist komplex' nicht damit gemeint ist 'ja, die Palästinensische Zivilbevölkerung ist uns egal, irgendwas werden die schon gemacht haben', sondern zumindest mal anerkennen, dass auf beiden Seiten extreme Menschenfeinde an der Macht sind.
@earthworm jetzt würde ich von dir mal gerne hören, ob du schon mal vo irgendeinem Völkermord gehört hast bei dem der vermeintliche Aggressor Hilfslieferungen unter Beschuss der Gegenpartei ins kriegsgebiet geschafft hat. In diesem Ausmaß. 2 Grenzgänge geöffnet hat. Etc. Und man dann hört das Hilfslieferungen hinter der Grenze aufgehalten werden. Nicht von Israel. Dann eine Dose auf dem Markt verkauft wird statt verteilt. Nicht von Israel.
