We are on course to face mass extinction in seas similar to those experienced roughly 250 million years ago,when 90% of marine species went extinct due to massive release of CO2,says article just published (under paywall😤) in @ScienceMagazine@twitter.com👉 science.org/doi/10.1126/scienc 1/

This is due to combination of📈temperatures &📉oxigen in seas.Polar species would have no escape.
If temperature📈<2°C,species losses would still be catastrophic (~220.000 species lost) but much more contained (<10% of total).
